Military History Research Centre knows that you care how information about you is used. We do that carefully and sensibly. This notice describes the privacy policy of Military History Research Centre. By visiting the Military History Research Centre, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Notice. Any personal information provided to or to be gathered by the Military History Research Centre is controlled solely by the Military History Research Centre (Aust.) Pty. Ltd.

1. Collection and Use of Personal Information about Customers
The only information gathered by the Military History Research Centre (Aust.) Pty. Ltd., is a website user’s email address and delivery details when a user orders a products from the on-line store. Passwords are encrypted and cannot be read by IT personnel.

2. Credit/Debit card details
Card details are a relationship between the user and the credit supplier and no purpose is served by the Military History Research Centre (Aust.) Pty. Ltd. To preserve that relationship and protect against illegal access and use of personal details, we do not store details of any payment cards at all, all card details are stored and secured by the payment agent (PayPal).
We use personal information to handle orders, deliver products and services, communicate with you about orders and products, services and promotional offers (with your consent) and update your records. We also use this information to prevent or detect fraud or abuse of our website.

3. Third party information
The Military History Research Centre (Aust.) Pty. Ltd., does not store, or use any information passed to us by third parties, unless that information relates to legal or regulatory activities, or where the Military History Research Centre uses third party suppliers to provide delivery services on its behalf. Any such information is restricted purely to that required to execute such service provision. Where overseas third party services providers are required they are only selected from those countries where the local Privacy Act of that country complies with the standards set by Military History Research Centre (Aust.) Pty. Ltd.

4. Communications by E-mail
We often receive a confirmation when you open e-mail from the Military History Research Centre if your computer supports such capabilities. These confirmations are stored for a limited period of time, 180 days, for legal purposes.

5. Cookies
The Military History Research Centre does not use cookies to record or track customer or user information. It is possible that your browser may create a cookie for navigation purposes.

6. Promotional Offers
Should we have occasion to send offers to selected groups of Military History Research Centre customers, we only do so with your consent. We do not give any other party your contact details in any form. If you do not want to receive such offers, please signify by leaving the check button blank at the time of registration.

We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in connection with the collection, storage and disclosure of personally identifiable customer information. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we disclose personal information to you. It is important for you to protect against unauthorised access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when you finish using a shared computer.

10. Information Access
The Military History Research Centre provides you with a written copy of all information about your account and your interactions with Military History Research Centre. Such information is provided in writing, in response to a written request only. No other form of request will be accepted (Contact Us) to obtain postal information. A charge of AUD$20.00 is made for the provision of staff time and secure return mail.

11. Your Personal Choices
As discussed above, you retain the right to withhold personal information, even that required to make a purchase. Where delivery of a product is dependent upon such information, the order shall be cancelled immediately. You can update your information by using the ‘Update User Details’ link, once you have logged in. Only your latest information is stored and no previous version is retained.

12. Conditions of Use, Notices and Revisions
If you choose to visit Military History Research Centre, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Privacy Notice and our Conditions of Use, including limitations on damages and application of the laws of Australia. If you have any concern about privacy at the Military History Research Centre, please e-mail us a thorough description and every attempt will be made to resolve the issue for you.
